Trama A famous Parisian fashion house included a Romanian jacket suspiciously like those from Bihor in their couture collection and sold it for 30,000 euro. So how about generating some cash for the creators of the original design? Beau Monde, a fashion magazine with 100% original Romanian content, took a stand against cultural appropriation and launched Bihor Couture, a brand that sells authentic fashion pieces and returns the money to local communities.

Bihor - it rhymes with Dior. The campaign took advantage of that fact when the Parisian fashion house included a jacket that looked a lot like a traditional Romanian garment in one of its collections. Romanian magazine Beau Monde launched Bihor Couture to encourage fashion fans to buy the original item, handmade in Bihor itself, and at the same time support local crafts people.
