The Gorilla Health Plan is a partnership between the Gorilla Doctors and the world’s leading health insurers. It empowers you to take action by viewing the health of gorillas in the same way you view the health of your loved ones.

The plan turns health insurance customers all over the world into Gorilla Doctor donors every time they pay their fees. Simply add an endangered gorilla to your family’s health insurance plan.

Health insurers will promote the campaign using their own media channels, and when you add a gorilla to your health plan, you’ll receive regular health reports, further fostering a connection between protector and gorilla.

The Gorilla Health Plan gives health insurance companies an easy means to be socially and environmentally responsible, and thus, to appear better in the eyes of current customers and potential customers. This makes our idea highly feasible. Once enough insurers get on board, other insurers will feel pressured to also offer Gorilla Insurance so as to not appear less green than their competitors. Once the dominoes fall, the media will pick up on the unique scheme, heightening awareness of the campaign and the Gorilla Doctors through earned publicity.

By using health insurance companies, we’re elevating the health and wellbeing of mountain gorillas to the level of humans. Suddenly, people are encouraged to view the health of gorillas in the same way they view the health of their families.

By using the customer bases and media channels of health insurance companies world-wide, we’re monumentally expanding our potential audience and donor base. The key to getting people to choose to insure a gorilla is to keep the price accessible, and simply integrating the option into their pre-existing health insurance. By keeping the donation amount low, $1 a month for example, we’re not scaring off donors. If 50,000 people insure gorillas, annual donations will be huge.
