| Trama | Every college year OVAM, a Belgian Public Waste Agency, hands out the Ecodesign Award to product design students. But every year it receives fewer entries because students are losing interest. A real waste, because in these uncertain times we are going to need every circular idea that rethinks conventions… So, OVAM decided to relaunch the award by turning the previous trophy that was just a wooden plaque into a real ecodesign that’s worth much more than gold: a sustainable Fairphone with a network of contacts every beginning product designer can only dream of. A contact list filled with renowned eco-minded employers, investors, product designers, artists, and other famous spokespersons. All very eager to add their phone number as it gave them a direct line with Belgium’s upcoming talent. Then, through a social nomination challenge we showcased the power of a great network and filled the phone with even more contacts. |
