Trama Approximately 15 million Canadians live beyond their means. Interac, a Canadian leader in financial services, wanted to engage a nation disinterested in thinking about their finances. Using the medium everyone can connect with, music, we created The Sound of Spending, a digital tool that converts spending data into a song. The tool allows the user to hear the sound of their own personal spending, or the spending of the entire nation. Interac mapped millions of transactions across the past year to a soundwave, so that everyone can listen to Canada’s economic recovery since the pandemic.
