Before joining VMLY&R as Chief Creative Officer, Cuesta worked for DDB in their Chicago, NY, Miami, Puerto Rico, and Colombia offices.

Santiago studied marketing, advertising, and music in Bogota, and screenwriting in NY and Seattle. He also worked as a teacher at Brother Creative School and have taught workshops and seminars in multiple academic institutions, including Miami Ad School. In addition, he has taken part as a juror at festivals like OJO de Iberoamerica, AdStars (South Korea), Cúspide (Puerto Rico), Antigüa (Guatemala) and AdForum Phoenix.

As former vocalist and guitarist of the dance-punk band Nicer Dicers, Santiago shared the stage with artists such as 30 Seconds to Mars and A Place to Bury Strangers.
