US in Progress 2019 starts in Wrocław

The 9th edition of US in Progress will be held from the 6th till 8th of November 2019, as a part of the 10th American Film Festival in Wroclaw in partnership with Polish Producers Alliance. Platige Image is a partner of the event and we provide an award for the winner to make his present masterpiece even more impressive.

US in Progress is held twice yearly (June edition takes place in Paris during Champs-Elysees Film Festival). In Wroclaw, invite-only screenings will feature six projects selected from numerous submissions of independent American feature-length films in the final editing stages: Aleph by Iva Radivojevic, In a Silent Way by Collin Levin, My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To by Jonathan Cuartas, The Unknown Country by Morrisa Maltz, Tiger Style! by Cory Santilli, Time Now by Spencer King. The filmmakers and their producers will attend the presentations as well as one-on-one meetings with top European buyers and festival programmers and listen to presentations from Polish film organizations dealing with film production and promotion. We are among the 2019 US in Progress partners – the leading Polish sound and image studios. Platige Image, Orka, Coloroffon, Fixafilm, and Soundflower Studio provide in-kind awards of post-production service packages of combined value amounting to $50,000.

US in Progress organizers are happy to continue our Polish- American Co-production Meetings, a networking opportunity for Polish producers seeking partners from the US. The event aims to foster transatlantic collaborations and will consist of a panel discussion by producers working in the US experienced in co-production with Europe: Andrew Hevia (Moonlight, Leave the Bus Through the Broken Window), Zach Nutman (Short Term 12, It Follows, Paterson, Beach Rats), Monique Walton (Bull, We’re Still Together), Stephanie Wilcox (The Other Lamb, Whiplash, Drive), Jay Van Hoy (The Witch, The Lighthouse, American Honey).

Four selected Polish producers that will pitch their projects to the US producers and investors are the following: Lost Voice. Searching for Marcella Sembrich (dir. Radka Franczak, prod. Dagmara Brodziak), Naked Coast (dir. Michał Krzywicki, prod. Dagmara Brodziak), America in Your Footsteps (dir. Łukasz Kowalski, Anna Tarnawska, prod.Łukasz Kowalski, Anna Mazerant) and Turkey Hunting in Mississippi (dir. & prod. Bianca Lucas).

On top of intense networking and one on one meetings, Polish Film Institute and Adam Institute as well as Polish Producers Alliance will talk about Polish co-production opportunities.
