Emmy-nominated studio Hero4Hire Creative has tapped Jordan Beck as Head of Development. The film and animation maven will oversee the launch of original IP and creative projects from the Massachusetts-based shop. An award-winning filmmaker, performer, and creative executive with 15 years in the entertainment industry, Beck applies his lauded production and start-up business development experience to the role, serving his mission to support visionary creators and tell compelling stories for kids.

Beck produced, co-directed, and co-starred alongside Logan Lerman and Helena Bonham Carter in the 2018 animated feature film Sgt. Stubby, while also serving as a start-up executive for the film's distributor, Fun Academy. The film was released wide theatrically across North America, picked up over 40 international festival honors and awards including the Parents' Choice Gold Award, and was acquired by Paramount Pictures for home media and HBO Max for first-run SVOD.

Notes Hero4Hire Partner/EP Allison Dressler Kramer, “We knew Jordan would be the perfect fit as we grow our business and focus more energy on original IP. Evan and I are excited to share several new properties very soon.”

Adds Beck, “After a year where all of us were on the sidelines with the pandemic, everybody has had time to assess what matters most in both our personal and professional lives; for me, it’s working with passionate and creative people to deliver quality entertainment that families can share. Hero4Hire has already spent a decade creating world-class animation for clients and I can’t wait to get our original creations off the ground.”

Beck is originally from Oakland, CA but grew up largely in rural south Georgia, gaining first-hand experience of the United States’ unique cultural diversity through extensive travel as a child. Beck began an accelerated collegiate studies program at Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA at the age of 12 and ultimately graduated with honors from the University of Georgia at 19 as one of the institution’s first Film Studies alumni. Following school, Beck leveraged his bevy of creative talents to serve as a graphic designer and session/touring musician for independent bands, music venues, theatrical performances, and recording studios in a freelance capacity. In 2009, he caught the attention of the National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center near Ft. Benning, GA, serving as the $110M facility’s inaugural entertainment and creative director by planning live events, giant screen cinema programming, and alternative content for the THEA Award-winning attraction’s IMAX theatre. Beyond his work in the entertainment industry, Beck is a decorated military intelligence officer in the Georgia Army National Guard.

In 2015, Beck was recruited to an executive position with start-up French-Irish children’s entertainment company Fun Academy and the production of their debut film, the CG animated feature Sgt. Stubby, which tells the true story of the famous stray dog who saved lives in the trenches of World War I. Beck wore multiple creative hats during the production of the film – including the direction of all 2D sequences and motion graphics as well as performing a principal voice role – en route to Sgt. Stubby’s wide theatrical release in 2018. Sgt. Stubby earned a slew of accolades including the Parents’ Choice Foundation Gold Award, consideration for the Academy Awards and BAFTAs, and has been released in over 20 international territories. Following the film’s release and before signing with Hero4Hire Creative, Beck became Chief Operations Officer for Fun Academy, overseeing all aspects of its award-winning film, television, and digital content development.
