It was an incredible night for Broken Heart Love Affair’s epic film “Immortal”, for The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). The six-minute ode to humanity was selected Best In Show out of the most creative short films from around the world at the One Screen Short Film Festival, hosted in New York City by The One Club For Creativity. The work picked up an additional four wins for Non-Fiction/Documentary; Experiential Film; Branded Entertainment Film; and Social Media.

The film set out on a journey to demonstrate why the 13-million objects housed in the museum are so critical to us – because they are us. Every object is a portal to our existence and our place in the world. The Immortal odyssey all takes place under water to represent the womb of the world, as a floating baby travels through history capturing all life’s beauties, as well as its atrocities. “We live on in what we leave behind”, is the powerful message.

“We are proud to see this recognition. This film conveys a poignant insight about the role of Museums on our planet. An insight that I don’t think has ever been conveyed so beautifully and powerfully”, says Lori Davison, ROM’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.

The film came to life in a cinematic masterpiece directed by the ever-talented Canadian Director, Mark Zibert, and has itself become a permanent installation at ROM.
