About Ken Buckfield Associates

Having sold my successful integrated communications agency to a USA group in 2000 and moved into consulting and senior client-side positions, I now bring a wealth of international C-level marketing and communications experience to brand owners; enabling them to fully exploit the potential of their assets and maximise the lifetime value of their customers or clients.

My services flex around your needs in meeting the challenges you face and exploiting the opportunities available for market share.

I am available on a project or retained basis and equally happy to work with challenger or established brands.

Today, as a one-man-business, albeit with a wide network of proven associates, my availability is by definition limited and while I've never been accused of being cheap, I do always deliver added value.

But unless you have a unique and overwhelmingly compelling proposition and luck on your side, market creation is unlikely to be an option, so success is also going to be about out-marketing your competitors to win market share.

How? By buying it? That’s not sustainable. Neither is simply adding value (it is just another form of discount after all).

What I believe is that value added propositions, being customer-centric, providing a great service, investing in your people, products and processes and applying insight and intelligence are the key differentiators for real and sustainable success. If you can package and present your proposition so that it’s more engaging and compelling than your competitors’ and take it to the right audience using the right channels at the right time, you’ll win their preference before making a purchase and their cash when they do – and grow your market share.

Background

Ken Buckfield Associates was formed in 2013 as a vehicle to take my marketing, communications and management skills to brand owners and organisations looking to work with an independant. grown-up consultant with a breadth of expertise and proven experience in engaging audiences and creating preference.

Esperienza

I’ve been involved in the marketing and advertising sector for many years cutting my teeth in selling advertising space and time before moving into the agency environment. Following a short but eventful stint at a top-ten London agency I joined a small challenger agency with big ambitions.

I was appointed to the board at a relatively youthful 24, became a shareholder at 28, had my name on the door in 1995 and sold the extremely successful and profitable business in 1999 to Panoramic Communications, a Swiss backed North American marketing services group .

During the earn-out years that followed, I acted as Managing Director for EPB Communications, a £30 million integrated agency formed from the merger of Buckfield Lord and an existing group asset, The Square.

As a C-level General Manager, Business Developer and Marketer, I’ve experienced high level exposure across a variety of consumer and B2B markets, significantly in the premium segment of the automotive, communications technology, consumer electronics and physical security markets.

I’m well versed in the practice of nurturing people, businesses and brands to realise their true potential and in the process of increasing engagement, revenue and profitability.

In short, I’m a grown-up with proven experience and expertise that you can trust to deliver results for your business rather than empty promises.
