Iris North America significantly expands strategy department amidst high growth period

Iris North America has hired a significant number of senior strategists, who will continue to bolster the region’s strategic product.

The hires come off the back of a series of high profile account wins for the agency, including being named Bentley Motors agency of record for experiential and PR across North America, winning the strategic and creative account for retail giant Winn-Dixie, being appointed lead agency for PayPal and becoming the agency of record for brand and digital transformation for the B2B brand, Alight. In addition to new client wins, Iris’ remit with existing clients such as adidas continues to grow. Last year, the agency was responsible for creating adidas’ unified global brand platform ‘Ready for Sport’ throughout the global pandemic.

Julie Massey has been appointed as Head of Integrated Strategy for New York and Atlanta. Prior to joining Iris, Julie was responsible for strategy at some of the world’s largest global creative agencies including Huge.

Massey joins Adrienne Houghton, who has been named as Head of Integrated Strategy for Iris Chicago. Adrienne has led strategic work for agencies such as Gyro and Dentsu MB.

Ric Marshall-Nicholls has joined at Head of Integrated Strategy for Iris San Francisco. Ric learned his trade as a strategist at DDB in London, since then he has built progressive strategy teams and departments on both sides of the Atlantic .

Matt McLaren joins as Senior Strategist, leaving his prior role at Huge where he cut his teeth working on product and brand strategy. Ja'Qor "Jay" Goodwin has been hired as a Strategist. In 2020 Jay launched a podcast, ‘Pay It Fwd’, to share stories and journeys of Black professionals working in marketing and communications.

Dominik Von Jan has joined as Executive Strategy Director of Data at Iris North America. Dominik will be responsible for further developing our Data-Driven Experience Strategy offering. He’s previously worked at agencies such as RAPP, Wunderman, BBDO and AKQA.

In addition to the roster of new hires, Jordan Harper has moved across the pond after 8 years at Iris London acting as technology director, CTO and strategist. Jordan will be leading Iris North American digital transformation strategy as Executive Strategy Director and will be based in Chicago.
