Trama We are Magnetron Media. We will not only make our target audience aware that the use of ad-blockerswill lead to a ‘BLACKOUT’ of online content, but we will also offer a solution.
In 2015 a total of 300 million consumers installed adblocking software to stop annoying advertisements.Blocking all ads deprives legitimate websites of critical revenue, and stops good advertising from beingseen. Consumers can whitelist websites and there are adblockers that give ad-networks the chance toonly present acceptable ads for a cut of the advertising money. We disagree with this method and with
Blackout/Blacklist campaign this is all going to change.
We are about to lose the free internet as we know it. Advertisers make annoying ads and in returnconsumers download adblockers that block ALL ads. We want to show consumers this isn’t the waythey should handle the situation, because they’ll regret it in the long run. We want to show them theyhurt content creators (our ambassadors) by using adblocker, our ambassadors will help us createawareness through Thunderclap https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/39096-blackout
Approaching, and during the BLACKOUT, the day of our thunderclap, consumers are made aware thatcontent and ads are intertwined and should be a balanced unity.
Once they are aware we’ll offer them a solution whereby the consumer can ‘blacklist’ ads which he orshe finds unacceptable or annoying. If an ad gets ‘blacklisted’ often the content producer will have achance to re-design their content according to the acceptable ads manifesto.
